BY CAR

From Salvador take the ferry boat to the island of Itaparica. Follow the BA 001 through Nazaré-Valença-Camamu andTravessão. In Travessão take the BR101 south until you reach the road to Ilhéus through Uruçuca. Arriving in Ilhéus proceed to Praia do Norte (North beach) and follow the road to Itacaré (70Km).

Coming from the south of the country, take BR101 until Itabuna. From Itabuna follow the road to Ilheus and proceed to Praia do Norte (North Beach) where the road to Itacaré begins.

BY PLANE

The closest airport is in Ilhéus (70 km). After arriving in Ilhéus, there are options on how to get to Itacaré:

1) Take a taxi from the city to Itacaré for about R$120,00

or

2) Take a taxi to the bus station in Ilhéus (around R$20,00) and a bus to Itacaré (R$7,00).
